The Antonov An-22 “Antei” (Russian: %u0410%u043D-22 %u0410%u043D%u0442%u0435%u0439, An-22 Antej; English Antaeus) (NATO reporting name “Cock”) is a heavy military transport aircraft designed in the Soviet Union. It is powered by four turboprop engines each with a pair of contra-rotating propellers. In 1965 it was the first wide-body transport aircraft and remains the world’s largest turboprop-powered aircraft to date.
